Paintball
Old scores get settled and fresh grudges get made on a paintball field. Every hit stings enough that you'll actually bother taking cover, and it soon becomes obvious who has real tactical sense and who does all his military planning from the sofa with a controller in his hand.

Why paintball works on a stag do
Paintball suits a stag do because it's physically hard work and properly competitive, and the team element shows what everyone's made of once the pressure's on. The outdoor sites around Sofia are laid out like military battlefields: natural cover, mixed terrain and scenarios you have to think your way through.
The sting is what makes it work. Hits hurt enough that people take cover and play smart instead of running round like headless chickens, which gives it more bite than laser tag. On top of that, the paint splats show exactly who's been taking hits all day and who knows how to stay alive.
Sofia has several paintball sites, and they don't all play the same. Tell us whether you want woods, buildings or open ground, and we book the site that fits, on the date that suits the group.
The best bit is seeing how everyone reacts when the paint starts flying. The quiet one becomes a tactical mastermind, the gobby one falls apart at the first shot, and someone always takes it far too seriously and starts barking orders like a drill sergeant.
Pace yourselves with the paintballs. 200 each sounds like plenty until the first game starts, and the lad who sprays his early spends the rest of the session either buying more or picking his shots.

Paintball FAQs
Everything the group chat keeps asking, answered.
1. How much does paintball hurt?
A proper sting for around thirty seconds, which then fades into a dull ache. That's plenty to make you respect cover without spoiling your day, and the jumpsuit and helmet take the edge off the nastiest hits.
2. What if someone has never fired a paintball gun?
Not a problem. Everyone gets instructions in English before the fighting starts, and the markers are easy to use once you've got the basics down.
3. Can we split into teams and shoot each other?
That's the whole point. Splitting into rival sides and stalking your mates across the field is half the fun. It's nothing personal.
4. Can you play paintball in the rain or mud?
Yes, and it adds to the realism and the challenge. Drizzle brings a bit of atmosphere, while big storms might mean postponing for safety, but you're getting muddy whatever happens.
5. How many paintballs are included?
200 each as standard, or 500 each with custom T-shirts for the group if you pick that option. They go quicker than you'd think, and the trigger-happy lads can buy more at the site.
6. What paintball game modes can we play?
Capture the flag, elimination rounds and other scenarios, depending on the site. Mixing them up keeps things fresh, and each one asks for a different kind of tactics.
7. How many people do you need for paintball?
From 6, and a group under 8 pays for 8. There's no real upper limit: with enough notice we book several fields for a big group.
8. Do you need to be fit for paintball?
A basic level helps, because you'll be running, crawling and diving into cover all game. Thinking tactically counts for more than athleticism, though.
9. Is paintball safe?
Far safer than it appears. Everyone gets instructions before playing, and the jumpsuits and helmets take the impacts.
